Play School – Mechanics: Phil Triantafillou

PLEASE NOTE: Dog spots are now full. We still have general viewing spots available.

Join us for a night of practical play. This workshop presented by Phil is aimed at teaching handlers the mechanics of play. Improve and harness your dog’s love for the game. We will cover things like targeting the toy, the dynamics of cooperative play (including outing or releasing the toy), drive building techniques, incorporating obedience with your game and common handler errors to avoid.

Phil has been working with dogs for over 30 years and has an ability to connect with dogs that we don’t often see in the industry. Phil has gotten countless dogs over the years who “don’t play” with toys, to be active and willing members of a game with their handlers. If your dog already has tons of drive, that’s no problem either. Phil has extensive experience with sport and operational dogs alike, making this workshop a can’t-miss for anyone in the dog world.

This workshop is part of Phil’s Play School series. This is the second of three workshops that we will be running in the next 12 months.

Phil is the President of Working Dog Federation of Australia. He has competed and Highest National level, won State Championships and The Australian National IPO/IGP Championship. Phil successfully trained a handler and dog team to represent Australia at the WUSV World Championships in 2007. He has assisted and helped train many teams to successfully achieve many highly accredited dog sport titles from BH, IPO, IGP through to FH Tracking and Grand National IGP Champions. Phil driving motivation is to help people build productive relationships with their dogs so they can achieve their goals.

Dog Spots:  We have a limit of 6 dog spots (by application only once you have purchased a non-refundable auditor spot). If you are interested in a dog spot please email through your dog’s behavioural history, their current training level and your behavioural goals relating to obedience in an email application to us after you have purchased your ticket.

It is important that we have a range of dogs at various levels for the workshop. The purpose of dog spots is to demonstrate Phil’s techniques and how they work across a range of varied dog types.

Our team will need to sight proof of a current C5 vaccination (or equivalent) prior to attending the seminar. Please also ensure your dogs are up to date with their worming/flea/tick treatments.

Parking: Dog Spot attendees will have priority parking out front.  If parking is full out front there is parking in the service lane that runs parallel to the Princess Hwy.

Catering: We will provide PIZZA for dinner, tea/coffee and light snacks. You will need to organise your own lunch.

Refund policy: Pro Dog will only offer a refund or exchange of a ticket if an event is cancelled, rescheduled or significantly relocated by the Seller (and you cannot or do not wish to attend the rescheduled or relocated event), or to the extent otherwise required by law (including the Australian Consumer Law).
